Worship

A warm welcome to the Stratham Community Church, United Church of Christ!

We are an Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ, and we offer an extravagant welcome to everyone, believing that each one of us is beloved by God, who gives us grace and mercy. We, the members of this church, in turn, are called to extend grace and mercy to others. All are welcome.

We are a church which glorifies God in worship and nurtures faith development in the members of our congregation. We value mission, as we strive to respond in compassion to meet the needs of the world. We value community as we honor all generations, welcoming people of all ages and family configurations, and embrace people of diverse human experiences.

No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.

If you need a place to be welcomed, to ask questions, to learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ, please contact us.

We hope you will plan to visit the Stratham Community Church. It would be a joy to welcome you.

Worship Times

Our worship service begins at 10:00am and is held in our beautiful 250-seat Sanctuary every Sunday morning. Regular attendance is around 65 parishioners. Summer services begin at 9:00 am and are usually shorter, and more casual, without a choir. Dates for the transitions are well-publicized.

Worship Services

Weekly Sermons

We are worshipping in person on Sunday mornings at 10am and 9am for the summer. Masks are not required. If you are uncomfortable attending in person, our services are live-streamed on our YouTube channel. Please check the ‘Bulletins’ section below for our Order of Worship to follow along and participate from home!

Christian Education

Sunday School

Stratham Community Church Sunday School strives to:

  • help individuals development of a basic knowledge of the Bible.
  • encourage a deeper faith through stimulating, thought-provoking and engaging discussions and projects.
  • offer opportunities to be Disciples of Christ.

Using fellowship, mentors, mission and outreach, we will transform our deeper faith into actions that we take with us into the week and the world. We will explore the essential stories from the Bible, thus strengthening our faith and maturing our youth into responsible Disciples of Christ.

Sunday School schedule
Sunday School if for youth between the ages of three and twelve. Sunday school is during the church service. Our youth director will invite everyone to come to Sunday School during the worship service. Children can be picked up at coffee hour after worship is over.

Prayer Requests

Prayer is a fundamental part of our faith journey. We express our concerns, worries and blessings in our conversations with God. Our church community is here to pray with you. If you’d like to share your prayer requests, please email our church office at findfaith@strathamchurch.org.

Bible Study/Book Groups

Pastor Wes hosts the Lunch & Lectionary, on Tuesdays at noon in our conference room. Bring your lunch and Bible, as the readings for the coming Sunday worship are discussed.

We regularly have groups participate in Bible study and book discussions. The schedule varies throughout the year. Past groups have studied Lent, advent season, restorative justice, spiritual books and the Bible.

We welcome any suggestions you may have or if you would like to lead a group, please email our church office at findfaith@strathamchurch.org. Thank you!
